Reading the tide in Tidecaller Cards

Tidecaller Cards looks like a normal deckbuilder until you notice half your cards get stronger or weaker with the tide. Ignore that and you will win some runs on luck. Learn it and you win on purpose.

The trick is to draft your deck around one tide state instead of trying to be good at both. A high-tide aggressive deck beats a wishy-washy deck that hedges its bets every turn.

I also learned to hold certain cards a full turn rather than playing them immediately. Timing a big card for when the tide favours it doubled its impact more than once.

If you are losing early, look at your draft, not your play. Most of my defeats traced back to greedy card choices two rounds earlier, not misplays in the moment.
